3 Day Weekend

Monday, October 1st was a holiday here in Western Australia which meant that Luke had the day off!! After both of us asking several people what holiday it was and no one knowing, I googled it !  October 1st here in WA and Queensland is the day they choose to celebrate the Queens birthday, the other states here in Australia celebrate it on June 11th.  Her actual birthday is April 21 which is close to Easter so from what I gather each state gets to pick their date lol  Now if anyone knows differently please let me know :)

Our fun weekend kicked off with us going to the WA state fair (or their version of it) with one of Luke's co-workers, his fiancee, and their 2 kids.  We had a lot of fun and I'm glad we got to go!  The fair was about the size of the Tx State fair, maybe smaller, and no fried food LOL I thought it was funny they had food stands set up advertising American foods such as hot dogs, hamburgers, and nachos but no funnel cakes!! No one knew what they were when we asked ! I was super happy when we came across a mobile Mad-Mex, it is so good I can't eat enough of it plus it's Weight Watcher friendly :) Luke wasn't feeling to good so we didn't ride any rides except the ferris wheel, I was ok with that considering it cost an arm and leg to do anything... $16.00 for the ferris wheel and $20.00 for my Mad-Mex :/  (totally worth the 20 though) They also had an area set up with Ford and Chevy heavy duty trucks.  Everyone was talking about how large they were and taking pictures lol A F-350, fully loaded will only set you back $146,000 ... yeesh

Saturday was a fabulous 88 degrees so we spent the day at our favorite Trigg beach.  It was surprisingly quiet for a holiday weekend but my guess is they were at the fair.

Sunday, Luke still wasn't feeling well, so we got us some Subway, went to Kings Park, and had us a little picnic :) It was a fabulous 92 degrees and we soaked it all in ! If only the weather would stay that way, the rest of the week it will be low 70's and high 60's.
